with a knife all i have to do is keep on moving and only defend myself when i have to, while with ANY automatic weapon your going to waste bullets, run out of bullets and have you ever even tried to fire a weapon at distance at someones head? do you know how hard it is? So yes mock my choice of weapon, because of COURSE with your automatic gun you can have every shot count and have an endless supply of ammunition.
Best way to survive an Zombie attack is EVER get into one, guns are loud, noisy and unless you used one before extremely unaccountable due to bad aim of novie and first time users. All you will do is waste a lot of ammunition attracking more zombies and end up dying, where as with a knife all you have to do is only worry about any of them that get up to you. And then its a simple stab through the eye or ear.
Do you know the force needed to stab a knife through a person's skull? Imagine having to do that over and over again. You'd be tired just from doing that.

the m1 grand is a powerful rifle that can have a bayonet on the end of it so you dont have to shoot nor get close and then if you do shoot it wont go straight threw the head and leave enough intact for the zombie to still function. plus the fact that its SEMI automatic so you dont need to do the bolt action and reload is a simple pop the clip in the top
the Springfield sniper is the same way but a sniper
the heli will allow you to make a quick escape never said i was gana use it all the time. also if you get loud speakers you can lure zombies into a fast flowing river were they will most likly be swept away sure you might need fuel but how common is fuel everywhere?
The knife is stupid, not enough range let alone be able to kill hordes at a time. A nuclear bomb is even stupid, yes you will some BUT the ones that don't get killed will continue to move and may even carry radiation with them, not to mention it isn't a practical self defense weapon.
Semi auto weapons with a common caliber is the best choice for a weapon. A motorcycle is also good vehicle sense it can be relatively quite compared to other vehicles, but it does require fuel which would be hard to come by.

You have to remember during a zombie out break that not only will most roads be blocked and cut off that cars relie on finiet fuel and as such will only go as far as you have petrol.
Also they make noise which will attrack the undead and are limited to where they can go.

Weapon = sharp, smooth kicthen knife (stab through eyes or head) or hammer (yet again smash on head or poke through the eyes)
Armor = normal tight fitting clothes (anything lose of that hangs can be grabbed by a zombie), anything that can be used to stop a person (i.e. zombie) from biting you is to combersom to wear when on the move.
Alone on foot with a kitchen knife and non hanging clothes, you'd totally win ;d.
Well yes i would, i wouldn't be dependent on ammunition for a gun which id have to acquire in the first place, or slowed down by armor and padding which wont help anyway, and a knife is a weapon i can use again and again and again.

If you get surrounded how will a rifle help you? how can you lift it up when you have a zombie right next to you already grabbing you?
and yes ammunition WILL BE VERY HARD TO FIND, what? do you think the rest of the population will sit on their asses and do nothing? no, most stores selling food and firearms are normal the first to be hit and as such unless you have a stock pile of ammuntion at home then you are going to run out fast.
and a knife or other such weapon is perfect..yes the human skull if the strongest and hardest part of the body to piece, but like i said before all i have to do stab through the eye or the ear. Everyone is acting like they plan to go out and kill any and every zombie that they see and its going to be easy...if you think this you might as well strip down naked, lie down and call out to the zombies to come and eat you.
Like i said before the whole point of this topic is what to do during a zombie apocalpse, that is to say that 9 out of 10 people have be turned. The best plan is to head away from any and all urban areas, only move during the day (yes i know it sounds hard but unlike zombies humans DO have to rest and the best time to do this is at night) as at night zombies could and will be waiting around every corner of any urban area and be upon you before its too late. So if traveling in a group sleep at night and take turns keeping watch. Never...NEVER use a car as the the noise will attract any zombie within miles and most roads will already be full of broken down cars, most of which will be full of zombies (people turned trying to escape), in fact unless you have access to an aircraft or boat then traveling via any form of transport is not recommended.
And what if you decided to stay and defend your home? how much water will you have before the supply is cut? how much food do you have and how long can and will it last for? and how will you barricade your house? while zombies posses the same abilities as any normal person (same strength and physical traits, but slowing going as the body decomposes) any barricade no matter how well constructed, built and maintained will only keep the walking dead out for so long, 3 to 5 zombies will take smash through any man made defense you put up. And what about attracting large zombie numbers? smashing stairs and hiding on your second floor (provided you have one) or on your roof will keep you out of arms length of any zombie, but what then? and what about the weather? you can and will get sick if exposed to the weather for too long. And when your house is surrounded by a horde of 100 + zombies being on your roof or second floor may provide protection from being eaten. but with no way out of your current location, with limited water and food and ammuition...you will simply starve to death.

A knife is a horrible idea, when your being over run by zombies, you won't be able to stop them until they are right next to you.
A motorcycle is fine, you move to fast for zombies to keep up and it doesn't use as much fuel. Helicopters are a bad idea.
