photoshop help..

a question for photoshop users regarding the 'stroke path' tool ..

using the pen tool ive drawn a curve but im having trouble getting the tapered edges via the stroke path tool, even with the box 'simulate pressure' ticked.

anyone know why?

it worked out fine yesterday when i did it, but today its not.

Even if it was urgent you would still get best results posting in the AC.


Make sure you stroke is long enough to short and it won't come out right. Second, make sure you have decent brush settings meaning: opacity/fill at full, hard brush, last that infact you are using a brush and not pencil.

Your brush settings and pentool settings would be nice. If those two images are yours then infact the only problem I can see ( as far as your explanation will take me) is that you did not check simulate pressure. Since you said you did there must be something off in your settings.

Simulate pressure IS ticked.



any other settings i havent looked into?

When you're applying the stroke is the option above brush and not something else?

yes it is brush and that is exactly what i see.


and since it worked the first time i did it, i even tried uninstalling and installing hoping it resets everything

Bit drastic but even then huh?
Try resetting your brushes. Corner of the brush pallet you'll see a drop option select> reset brushes

Yeah, lol I see your problem now. You edited your last post right before I posted ( or I just didn't see it) with all your screen shots so I didn't see the last pic but I just noticed and you have the control set to "off" when it should be "pen pressure".

still doesn't work...



and it blocks out whenever i change to the pentool to apply the stroke path.. is that normal?

Yes, it's normal for the pallet to block out when the brush tool isn't selected but that first part is not normal. Dynamic was the last solution I could come up with...you've gone through every problem scenario I could think of and none of them worked. So to be honest I don't think there's anything else left that could be wrong that's systematic.

Try Adobe forums and see if they can come up with an answer?
