Drinking law.
Re: Drinking law.
i think it should be 18 here.
it's stayed 21 for so long because of drunk driving accidents and mom's of people who've died bullying everyone.
Personally i think the people who are stupid enough to drink and get plastered and drive are going to do it no matter their age and their ability to get alcohol.
i think it should be legal at 18 and there should be 1 day in like 10 grade where they have education about alcohol and sex, where everyone gets told the number of drunk drivers that die have the police come in and show some carnage photos and then let everyone wear the beer goggles, ect.

If we're going to do that, we might as well have an 'ethics' class required for every high schooler, because American high school students are so retarded these days.

Awesome blanket statement. Or was that sarcasm..I can't tell.
The "Old enough to serve, not old enough to drink" may be overused, but I think it holds some merit. An 18 year old can go off and die for his/her country yet isn't allowed a drink. Then again, its weird to compare service to drinking..they aren't related. I guess it's just the "adultness" of the two situations.

Oh and quite a few people drink before the age of 16 though.
Swap Belgium for Germany...
And lol at european countries not having drinking laws... are you really that clueless? USA stereotypes coming to mind
Excuse me. European countries have very "loose' drinking laws.
Better?

Re: Drinking law.
Well a lot of you are saying at 18 you can go die for your country and still not be able to drink...
If your in the US Military ie.Marines,Army,Navy,etc...you can drink at 18. If you are enlisted and you go to a bar say when your not deployed you can show them your military ID and you can buy drinks ^_^

Re: Drinking law.
Hmm I have a small theory on the drinking/driving law in the US.
You can't drink at 16, beacuse at this age you can also get your driving license. Without a doubt these 2 mixed together is where most accidents come from
So if the driving license age is at 16, drinking won't be ever.
No other countrys have driving @ 16, and thus, no (or almost none) countrys have drinking age at 21

Re: Drinking law.
How many of you actually obeyed that 21 to drink law?
I figure they should lower it to 18 as well. 18 is the age for pretty much everything else, plus kids are gonna be drinking and shit before then anyway. I don't think people change much between 18 and 21 either. By then they've probably made their decision on whether or not to drink in the first place.

Re: Drinking law.
Well I started drinking at 14 I think, but serious drinking started in highschool, we never had any problems bying tons of alcohol, and drinking law was 18 years but no one obeyed it.
Now you cant buy unless you are 18 but im 22 now and dont have problems with that. But if you really want you can get alcohol here no matter whats your age, just need to know where and how.

lol. I agree, some of these kids come out from clubs and bars totally wasted without any clear notice of the dangers they could be facing on the streets. Being supremely intoxicated also doesn't help their concentration and motor functions on the road. When me and my friends came out of a restaurant a few weeks ago, a buddy of mine nearly ran over some kid on a bicycle who bursted out of a small side ally with complete disregard for the rest of the traffic. Luckily my buddy slammed on the brakes really fast or the kid would be in the hospital for sure.

Noooooo.
I think people should take their own responsibilty for drunk driving.
Just like taking drugs. People make such big fusses about Alcohol and Drugs, but actually, it's the peoplewho are on it their own faults.
Like I'd care if I ran over a totally wasted teenager. it's his own damn fault. of course I'd hit the brakes, but I can't put myself to care mode when it comes to them.
Drinking is fun, and I get unbelievably drunk everytime. But then I just make sure that I've got someone to cover me when I'm licking someone's ass, face, feet or boobs cuz being funk is just fun..

Re: Drinking law.
I think 18 is the sweet spot for the drinking age. The limit doesn't keep kids from drinking, it keeps them out of bars and clubs; which is why having that drinking age is a good idea.

no... sorry but I don't feel sorry for them if like, one of my sisters got ran over when she was drunk. her own damn fault.
I don't care for my family anyways. My friends stand higher then my family.

I meant you'd care if some random drunk runs over you, your friends or your relatives whom you don't care about.

Idd, happens to much imo. Personally anyone who was drunk and did drive should never be allowed to drive again. Its to dangerous to let people liket that drive.
The cake is NO lie
