Re: foreigners battle shaolin monk
lol I love that wrestling match.
But I don't think a monk or someone like Jet Li or w/e could really stop a punch from a guy like that, like he did in that scene. And even though it's a movie, the wreslter didn't actually "lose", he seemed distracted by his temper and showboating. He never really got a hit off, you think Jet Li could take a direct hit from him? I'm asking, i'd like to see if he could.
I'm not an expert by far, but until I see a monk beat someone like that wrestler for real.. lol
Anyway, I don't think there is a "better" fighting style, it takes somoene to become the best at it, someone who might be the best it, could possibly be the best at something else if they tried instead. Can kinda think of it like sro lol, the builds, there isn't a best one, it's w/e fits you, and how good you become. I just don't see any kind of fighting style being better then another, could be wrong though.

I like the way you think Jackal.

I always LOL@the Fearless wrestling fight because Jet Li has to switch to Tai Chi mid fight, and I was expecting a smack down from OP.
Maddening

Uhm, i don't see any reason why someone who could break stone easily with his head, can't take a punch from the wrestler. Even a spear can't break through his throat, i don't think anyone else could do the same...

Theres a difference between flesh and bone and rock. And also holding a sharp object against you then pressing. How can ppl walk on swords, or stuff like that, practice, being able to push hard on something like that doesn't mean much in fighting, someone isn't gonna easily but forcefully push you.
I would bet you a million dollars I could easily stab a knife into that monks throat > > lol, it's far from imprenetrable.
We don't know how sharp those are.
Theres also 2 of them less force on each one.
They are bending and givin into his force, i'm not saying they arent pushing into his neck hard, but I think it's safe to say it's not as hard as someone can push into him.
And like I said, theres a difference between holding something against you then pushing, and hitting you with it.
You know you can take an ordinary glass, and bash the bottom of it on the corner and break a brick too, that doesn't mean you can't simply drop the glass and shatter it.

Theres other videos, more detailed but I can't find it atm.

Speed yes, power no.
shaolin martial arts are based on disarming an hostile opponent without hurting them, just to subdue them peacefuly, and they are damn good at it. even the old ones can disarm most and subdue them, thier fighitng style is very much in line withthe ideals of budhisim. they kick @ss especialy if they have a staff, the shaolin weapon of choice,
Shaolin monks are awsome

OP's video kinda sucks. The 2 guys looked weak and probably couldn't hurt me, and I'm a small guy that doesn't work out much at all. @ rest of topic... meh.

There are way to many misinterpretations when people quote one another these days.
