Too often I read about some new inbred camp where girls are being used as fucktoys in the name of god. Every other month there is some Christian extremist camp with one guy being the leader and having fifty wives and a hundred children.

Pretty strange a lot of these kind of groups are American. I don't really see America as such a religious country. Don't really understand why the majority, or at least the majority of the broadcasted cases, are American. Can any one shed some light on this or am I just wrong?

People are misusing religion for their own personal gain for ages now. It's these sicko's that need to be controlled and denied the spotlight. People need to have more faith in themselves and in their own capabilities as a human being, depending on outside sources for strength and courage and guidance only narrows your growth. In the end of it all, it's down to each person's own free willed decision to believe or not to believe. And as long as that's being debated on even the smallest fronts, we will never get rid of crap like this, because there will always be people who will be tempted, be misguided, or simply being manipulated.

I choose not to believe. And I didn't lose sleep over it, not one night.

I simply see it as something wrong. I disagreed with everything my religion teacher ever taught us. I hated going to church the first Friday of every month in gradeschool and highschool. I'd try to skip the whole damn day just because of it.

As I said, religion depends on the individual. If you go to mass like I once did and don't like it, then religion isn't right for you. For others though its a lot more different.

Religion helps many people pull out of drugs or alchohol and a lot of charities are operated by religious groups. There are a lot of assholes out there who use the bible to justify nonsense and I hate them for that but if interpreted in the good way, religion can be really helpful for someone.
