I need help [Phone laggy]

Ok like my dad gave me his old phone in comparison to mine its really good just used so theres this problem when sending messages U go like send and bam...... 2 minutes of nothing then it sends everything else seems fine
is there any Way to fix this or should i go like reinstall the progrem in the phone?

well i would get a cellphone booster and it should help

im pretty sure they have them at the 99c store

Try resetting the phone to factory settings. And 'format' as much as you can.
