is this a good harddrive?

Post by Disconn3cted »

the reason I'm asking is because the last hard drive I bought was $60 also but it only had 250gig and this one has a similar price but it is is 500gig is there something wrong with it or did the price just drop?

I bought this for my PC when building and for the past 4 months I've had 0 problems.

Has 32mb cache as opposed to the 16mb one you showed, and yes prices have dropped an insane amount like kabuki stated.

no, just no. Western Digital sucks. I had one a couple months ago and it broke after a week. Get a Seagate, best there is.

Lol you can't judge a company based on one product fck up. WD is just as good and I've had a 300gb HDD that's lasted me over 2 years.

Depends what models you get, they all have some iffy ones. Like the 750gig Seagates, they were really bad for having bad sectors. But both Seagate and WD are solid drives. Im just hesitant at the 'deathstars'. But that drive is good, i would go for the seagate though. The cache will help a bit but honest on some things you cant really tell anything, even on benchmarks, least that was with the first gen of the 32 cache on seagates. Ive kinda fell back on the computer tech know how, relationships come first...
