Re: help me pick a job plz
How is that a "job". Also, its up to you what you join, not others. If you don't have an opinion of your own, chances are your not that into it. Or chances are you already have a good idea, and you just wanted to make a thread about it.

Re: help me pick a job plz
some of you people are so cynical, hes just asking for honest opinions. so many assholes in OTL these days.
if your gonna go into the air force, just make sure you know that the physical requirements are really tough. Being able to bench 200 pounds is probably not enough to be able to do barrel rolls in an F-16 and survive. But one good thing is, once you leave the army to settle down, you could become a civilian pilot, so thats something you could fall back onto if you dont (or cant) get a college degree
if you want to minimize your chances of death, go the navy where all you do is go around the whole world living in an aircraft carrier or something. You might even get stationed in a nice place like hawaii or japan.

When you hear someone say they will be joining the army, it never means automatically that he will be slinging an M4 and marching off to battle. There are hundreds of things you can do while "in the army" that are not as dangerous and that would give peace of mind to family members. But anyway, why do you assume? Perhaps he has parents willing, almost pushing for him to serve. There are all kinds of people out there.

He's right...he may simply be looking for our advice. He's not asking us to wipe his nose or tie his shoelace for him. All he needs is cold, simple advice.
If it was up to me, I would go for air force or intelligence. The two are probably the safest, and imo, fun. Navy is also pretty safe...but I fear water and personally would feel rather claustrophobic being stuck in the middle of the Pacific with no one but my buddies to turn to.

Re: help me pick a job plz
Look, I say Air Force just because the idea of that is my type of game. But when it comes down to where you are going to spend the next couple of years of your life, and almost anything possible can happen to you during these next couple of years, it should really come down to what you think is right. Someone will come in here and say" The navy is for pussies, go Army", and that wont help you at all. When making a life changing decision, chances are your not going to get any solid responses from an online gaming forum. For the most part all you will get is the guy who will say that they have guns that look cool or wear different uniforms. And if you family is into the whole military thing, they probably aren't a bad choice of people to get ideas from.

Re: help me pick a job plz
Ok, we will probably get a good response from xemnas, dom, barotix, and somebody random. But there are a lot of people who arent....welll....like that lol.
Also, just because a country is different, doesnt mean they are uncomfortable. However, some countries are "unstable" right now.

Re: help me pick a job plz
Hi Gaige,
I don't know how much thought have you put into this but this is a very serious decision that will change your life forever. Now, if it was up to me, I would talk to my best friends, my family, and/or couselor. Everyone and their mothers know this forums is full of 15-years-olds whom I wouldn't trust with my dog's wellsfare, not to mention my life. (no offense intended)
However, since you asked, I want to you my two cents.
If you want to serve this country via joining a military branch, fine. Pick one. I'd pick something that lets you serve more of a utility role like a mechanic. Two reasons:
1. I don't want to put a bullet in another human being when it's absoluty not neccessary (this is an entire long argument by itself.) But the bottom line is I don't want to do something that later I'd regret.
2. If you pick something that requires an education, after the service, you can acquire a job easily. One of my best friend became a German auto mechanic after server as a mechanic in Japan - he was in the Marines.
There ARE other alternative ways to serve this country then joining organizations in which you have little control over your actions. That's me. Getting a job and being a good citizen itself is serving this country already.
Whichever path should you choose, I hope you give it a lot of thoughts and then give it your 100%.
Sincerely,
Rom

Re: help me pick a job plz
heres my opinion because i am also joining up. is your a smaller person with good eye sight and like to fly or like planes and such go airforce, if you like being on a boat in the middle of nowhere go navy. if you like to get up close and personal so marines/army.
personally i want to go airforce but 1 im to tall. and 2 i dont have the best eyesight ( glasses )
so most likely im going to army/marines.

I'd pick Army. That imo is one of the funnest, most rewarding, it keep you fit, teaches you great discipline etc etc.
That is what I plan on doing, joining the Australian Army.
Plus, do you get paid for joining the Army?

Re: help me pick a job plz
I was gonna join the Navy but they refuse to give me the 18k sign in bonus they promise so fck that.
Besides that shitty money u make. Luckily i can program and seeing u really dont need a degree for that i went for that.
+1 to that man
