look up the Tuskegee experiments...as someone inspiring to be a man of science i often find myself thinking about the duality of such issues. On one hand the progress of science that will benefit all mankind, on the other hand is terrible acts themselves. Also, and this is mostly for Jstar, the US buried the proof and didn't bring the japanese scientist up on charges are long as they were the ones who received all the information and data collected by the experiments. You see the things the japanese had done while terrible gave new medical information the US wanted and could benefit from so they said everything was cool as long as we get what you learned. Maybe i didn't make it clear but it was the US who conducted the Tuskegee experiments in the US on US citizens who didn't know what was going on and actually believed they were getting help. I brought the experiments up as a response the to comments that the Japanese people deserved the bomb due to there own horrific experimentations on Chinese citizens during the war. The part about the US burying the truth was referring to the Japanese experiments in WWII. The US knew what the Japanese had done and under any other circumstances those scientist would have been brought up on war crime charges but the US covered the truth and let the scientist off in exchange for the information on the biological experiments they conducted. You seem to think the information gained from such experiments was worth not brining those who committed the acts to justice, at least thats what i gather, i could be wrong. If that is the case though that leaves the door open for an entirely unamerican line of thought where the ends justify the means....
