Another Lappy thread.
I'm finally mustering up the money to buy one. I need your help!
Budget: ~$800
Uses: Minor gaming, audio mixing, minor movie watchin'.
I was thinking of this.
Any suggestions? (TigerDirect.com is preferred, I get a discount there)

i always thought it's "Googling"
draq, define "minor gaming", cuz i wouldn't count on that integrated graphic card to play any decent games at above min. graphic setting. unless u r talking about those non-graphic-intense games (like hearts of iron...).

It wouldn't matter, he's getting a laptop. Even if he wanted to do intense gaming, a laptop wouldn't be the fix and getting a desktop would be a better idea. Graphic card performance is not a consideration when buying a laptop.

Re: Another Lappy thread.
Some people like portability more than the power , i like to sit with my notebook more than with desktop computer , the gfx card i have plays all the games i want to play just fine ...
Anyways i would recommend getting at least 8400m gs or if possible 8600gt , the 8600 will play almost any game out there right now pretty easily ( not on max of cource)
the x3100 which 2 of my friends have are barely even playing the old games , i mean unreal tournament ( the very first) had some lags with it , while 8400m gs could easily run 2004 unreal just fine.

Games:
Wc3 and some F2P side-scrolling mmos from time to time. Nothing "graphic intense".

I don't know about those side-scrolling mmos but anyways x3100 should work fine with wc3 , some people even manage to play wow with it so if it's the only requirements for you , you will be fine with the current setup ...
