I doubt thats true considering that the Olympics aren't THAT big of a deal, the military is working while it is going on. The only country that would have any vunerablity to the Olympics is China. And i doubt China would be affected.

Georgia attacked the Chenvali , but Russia has a alliance with them , besides some of the russian soldiers were killed by georgia attack, Now russia fights georgia to remove them from Chenvali (Sorry i dont know how to say that in english if its not right ) ...

Anyways , i doubt russia would care to attack somebody exactly on olimpics, believe me they dont care about what world thinks... nor the world can change anything.

And personally i dont think russia tryes to take the georgia lands at all...

The cold war rivalry's been gone for quite some time. Cold war was the tension and competition between the U.S and the Soviet Union (the USSR), not just Russia; was basically carried out through propaganda, espionage, arms development, technological advances. AFAIK the US didn't get involved much in Bosnia or Chechnya, so I doubt we would care about this latest upset. Sucks for the innocent involved, it's not fair for them.

There was a former Yugoslavia before the genocides and war begun.

I just want to stab some people in the face because they are so stupid. It's about South-Ossetia.
South-Ossetia is part of Georgia, but the problem is most civilians there have Russian passports. This is because when Georgia got independent since USSR fell, North- and South-Ossetia got divided into 2 country's. The people in South-Ossetia didn't accepted the Georgian passports and Russia offered them a Russian passport. Georgia attacked some South-Ossetian rebels and Russia is defending them because they are Russian civilians, with Russian passport. So Russia marched into Georgia and then Georgia declared war to Russia.

The big question is which country was right. Russia because they are defending there own people, or Georgia because Russia marched into there country. Nonetheless I think Russia shouldn't attack anything outside South-Ossetia.
