I agree with you as far as the hard techno is concerned. On the other hand, hardcore metal is pretty cool

Well, it's mostly aimed (when concerning metal) at the people smashing there head in an electric guitar, and the SCREAMING in the mic, pretending to be cool.

There's also stuff like Linkin Park (who have done there share of screaming, and i hate that) which is kinda cool.

atreyu are metalcore. Thats the popular version. Its a mix ox metal and hardcore. Hardcore is a sub genre of punk.

vandango posted some groove metal in there (chimaira) i suppose their older stuff is a little bit more metalcore.

It because the genre is supposed to be hardcore-punk but it gets abbreviated to hardcore. Used to get me confused becuase i heard of hardcore techo before punk aswell :|. I guess that comes from having dutch family.

Absolutely love madball. So good, agnostic front are pretty good same with sick or it all and biohazard. hardcore varies a bit though. When you compare the older kinda hardcore to the new stuff you notice it. compare bane or madball or agnostic front to bands like parkway drive(shit since they have turned half metal and become a scene icon) and such.

I like both old and new for diffrent reasons though the new stuff is often
the same song written over and over again which i dont like, heaps of
cliche stuff. (N) the heart kinda has faded in alot of the new bands.

Ugh I hate hardcore! Some of my really good friends in real life love it. But I just can't stand it cause it's so hard to understand what the heck they're singing! *at least for me*

i LOVE hardcore
its not my fav type of rock (pop punk is, random yea i kno) but i love it

bands like:
Alesana
Atreyu (only first 2 cds)
Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Every Time I Die
Gwen Stacy
Killswitch Engage
Love Hate Hero
Scary Kids Scaring Kids (i dont really consider them hardcore but some ppl do)
A Static Lullaby

all good bands imo

i personally like it cuz it can be really stress relieving (surprisingly)

and its really pretty music (to me at least)
