Some Biology questions [Healp]

Post by Nitro »

Hello ... I have big exam tommorow ... and I cant find answers to this questions ...
So if someone could help me ... :)

1. Where is degrading of glucosa in our body happening? (The one without oxygen)
2. What happened in chemistry (<<-- I translated it littelary) evolution ?
3. What is main diffrence between pre-atmosphere and atmosphere today?
4. What is the name of division which regenerates cells? (Mitose ??)
4. If I zoom objective (of microscope) 40 times , and ocular 15 times, How much I zoomed in?
(40*15= 600 ?)
5. Describe polar structure of water molecule?
6. Which "polisaharids" are source of energy , and which ones build living beings?
7. Name molecule that is main monomer for making of starch?

That is it ... the test has 35 questions ... and I cant give answers to this ones ...
Sorry for bad translation ... If someone could help ... tyvm :) <333

Are you asking where glucose is broken down in anaerobic respiration? It's just in the cell's cytoplasm.

Origin of life (abiogenesis) or origin of chemicals (big bang)?

Nitro wrote:3. What is main diffrence between pre-atmosphere and atmosphere today?

This depends on the time period. But I'll go with the classic lack of free oxygen.

Mitosis

No idea. >.<"

Oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen so the electrons in H spends more time in O. This gives O a negative charge and the H a positive charge.

I don't think there's a single molecule that serves as our only energy source. Starch maybe?

Glucose

1)It happens in the cytoplasm iirc of most cells.
2) That's one weird question, which doesn't make sense. The only answer I could come up with, is the fact that mitochondria used to be organisms that were incorporated by other cells in the course of evolution.
3)?
4)Mitosis: cellular division. The daughtercells are equal to the mother cell. It happens in most cells.
Meiosis: The daughtercell only contain half the genetic information of the mother cell. This is for producing reproducing cells like sperm.
4) Yes 40*15 is correct
5) Water has a polar structure caused due to the difference in electronegativity and the fact that it isn't a linear structure. According to my chemistry/biology teacher in high school it resembles a teddy bear. Wikipedia the 3D structure and a more detailed information.
6) Enery source: Starch. Building material: cellulose though that is merely half decent explanation. Cows for instance can digest cellulose while humans can't.
7) glucose
