huejas wrote:Guys, once again, the cpu im getting (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... No=2877777) doesn't need a AM2 socket, its 939 socket. The Athlon 64 X2 cpu's are the ones that need a AM2 socket.

As for the RAM im getting 2gb. Still undecided about the graphics card but i know i want to spend about $50 on it.

You have a socket 754 motherboard, so you cant install a socket 939 CPU.
I recommend this:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 $59.99
Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB) $29.99
Cooler Master / X Dream / Socket 775 / Intel CPU Cooler $14.99
ECS G31T-M Motherboard - Quad Core Support, Intel G31 $39.99
XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX Video Card - 256MB DDR3, SLI Ready, PCI Express $69.99
Total: only $214.95 !!!
Or get these if you dont want to waste money:
Rendition By Crucial 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory $22.99
VisionTek Radeon HD 2600 Pro Video Card - 256MB DDR2, AGP 8x, Dual DVI, HDTV, Video Card $59.99
You cant get anything better with that money. BTW 8600gts SLI is POS!

Socket 754 mobo - Socket 939 CPU??

Hmmm, how did I miss that? In that case, don't bother upgrading the CPU, it's for four months. There are other 754's out there but it's really not worth it.
