my attempted "art"

Post by tedtwilliger »

Ok so i quite enjoy drawing pictures in fireworks with only the single line pencil tool. Pretty much everything i draw is a reflection of one time in my life.. everything i draw is ussually done in a period of great depression.

I thought i would share a few and see if anyone has any opinions as to how to improve them, tips for a better program to use ( i want to stick to the pencil tool though ) or a way to make them look generally a bit more professional. Im not much of an artist so im sure these wont compair to anything most of you people can do, but i try.

i like em.

only thing i'd like to comment, top one has too much white space imo.

for the rest, art is art and wouldnt be art if it weren't drawings that
have a certain meaning to you. i like this art of yours. but even if i
didnt, it's still good art.

I tried to use the white as symbolism for nothingness in the first picture. Without going into detail the picture is about a person in my life who was betraying me quite a bit.. they were trying to lie to my face but sadly i could see through their deception to the person they really are.

Anyway back to the white, its meant to symbolize how little substance their is to her as a person, just an exterior with nothing on the inside and nothing around her, no one who will truly care for her because of her lack of depth. Since im not talented enough to draw nothingness ( >.< ) i left it white lol

But i do see your point.. i probably should fill in the background but im not to sure what >.> any suggestions in mind?

and thanks for the nice words cin, makes me feel a little less retarded.

umm

i doubt anyone here has ever seen you as retarded.

and yeah, i thought you might have meant it as nothingness; it's not the first
time someone sees art differently than the artist. but idk, in some way, it's
not really working for me, the nothingness. hmmm. i think for my personal taste
there is too much contrast between the nothingness and the detail of the drawing.
idk, perhaps imo it would look better if you took out all the small lines
in the drawing, so you just see a "suggestion" of hair. now we see hair up to
a proper detail, but the rest of the face is just one or two lines.

but that's just me ;] could be the rest sees it in a different way ^^

well im sure no one here has ever seen me as retarded, but it doesnt mean i dont.. does it?

anyway back on topic i like your suggestion actually, considering the effect im going for having the hair in detail probably wasn't the smartest idea >.>

In the morning i shall re draw the pic, play around with the hair a bit.. maybe ever a different style with much less detail and post it if it turns out ok. i would do it now but im quite tired, blasted night time.

cheers ^^

nice. you could also edit out the hair detail in photoshop. idk, just to look
how it will look before you spend much time on it :]
