Thought I'd go with a somewhat different approach on this one, think it looks nice :P

Find a way to blend the white better in V2 and it'd pretty neat :)

I keep comparing it to your sig, but I just don't get what you mean..

He's standing in the clouds, and behind him is space, some strange stuff appears from the his back, doesn't that create depth?

It does, although make sure you are using different tones. Using one shade of gray doesn't create that much depth. I'll look around to show you what I mean.

Better but I would blur the upper right corner A LIL bit, it may be only me but it draws me away from the focal
