Okay, so, I'm designing a cover for a publication. The publication has to do with technological innovation in China and India. My buddy was designing it,but he's a putz and kept coming up with cheesy lightbulbs n stuff. So, I through THIS together in like 5 minutes:

Ugh, I'm playing around with it, to no avail. And I just found out from my boss that is has to be b/w. WTF? I know it's cuz of recent budget cuts and we need to save money - and printing in color is more expensive, but shit man, tie my hands behind my back FFS!?

Anyways, I can't think of a way to visualize "techological innovation in china and india" so, please, any and all help is welcome. I feel like a fu.cking retard right now and my brain hurts from thinking :(

What you could do is Connect the two faces with a chip like thing you know these weird "streams" that are on a chip? Use them to connect the faces or soemthing like that :/

Why not make the face in the first pic have half of the Chinese flag and half of the Indian flag?

I would put the chinese flag in the background, lowered opacity on a dark dark grey to black gradient background, with the face ontop, burned edges so it looks dark like it does now, and place the Indian flag over her face with the blue circle on either her left or right cheek.

Then do some clean detailed lettering in the dark portion next to the face.
