Photoshop Skillz needed

Okay, so, I want to design a program for an event we got coming up at my work, next week. I'm sick of the ones I've been using. I want it to be "engaging" etc. The even is a public forum on Poverty in Central Florida (where I live), so I was thinking of having it be one page, with the title of the program, date/time, sponsor info etc on the front page and then the agenda on the back. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I want to do that can capture "poverty" "the working poor" etc on the front. This is the FLYER i made for the event. I was thinking if someone could help me do something similar,but maybe a bit more visually "stunning" taht would be great. anyone care to put their photoshop skills to work for me?
