The only thing I don't like is the yellow effect on his face. It's too much yellow.

I was thinking about it, but sometimes I may not have enough time to catch up which is the reasons why AC teams stopped. I prefer taking my time perfecting my sigs rather than rushing to get one done in time for sig wars. I'm thinking about it though.

Well...it's colorful. He looks blurry. I don't even know where to begin. Overall, it looks sloppy and messy. He has a green sploch on his neck. C4D is all over the place. Not a fan of that duplicating outline effect behind his head with the pink and blue. I know you're thing is to do the tiny text, but it just doesn't flow that well in this tag. No flow, messy, sorry not feeling it.

Agreed with nitrox. Honestly though, less is more BS. You like to clutter a lot into one tag. It's not necissary and gives them that sloppy/messy feel to it. I'd tidy it up as nitrox said, establish a flow and give it a cleaner look. And mix it up with the text, all your tags look the same.

Wow...on the subject of your signature, I absolutely adore it. I love this style of sig, no matter what. Although I personally think his face is a little too yellow still. I didn't see what it was before, but from reading the comments in this thread I know you tweaked that. Doesn't look horrible by any means, just makes his face look "off", if you know what I mean. Personal preference is I'd like to see Pharrel's face pop more, because I think he's a good lookin' fella. I especially like the color-edging/outline/schtuff you did, pulls my eyes from Pharrel to the C4D effects behind him.

On another subject, and I'm sorry to hijack your thread for this. Another wow is due, a big wow. I don't care if I'm stepping on toes, but this has been bugging me for awhile and if I don't say anything I'll most likely end up stop coming to the AC and I'd really prefer avoiding that outcome.

I can agree with it, too. Stop naming off shit that's wrong and leaving it at that. Don't have time to? Then don't comment. You rip it apart and just leave it on the floor for the maker to try and piece back together.

I think its a good one. Its just got a different style from HOLLA, myself and perhaps majority of the SRFers here. One thing I didn't like is the fact that it lacks depth. The whole thing looks monotone in terms of contrast.

On-topic: Great effects. It's really something fresh. I feel bad (after Elika's post) to say that it's not my favorite style, but I can definitely appreciate the artistic merit behind it. For me, though, the whole thing is simply just too bright and luminescent. But like Elika said, it's just my personal preference is all. Just like how I don't like sprites and anime.
But regardless, as always, I just love your text, and your border. Your skill is way beyond my level, so I wouldn't even begin to know where to start critiquing it on how to change what I don't like. But it's a great tag. Going to give the participants of Sig Wars this week a real run for their money.

I'm sorry if you feel that way but i'm not here to sugar coat it, if you honestly can't take some negativity about a piece then don't bother posting it. My intentions are not to discourage! even if they may come off as such, I'm just blunt about the situation. Don't post NSR and act surprised if someone points out flaws and doesn't like it. Personally, I'd take blunt honesty over trying to sugar coat it anyday. Negative comments means I need to work better on what was pointed out. Generally, when pointing out things, it is your personal opinion about the tag, which is why I as well as others could look at it and dislike it, while others can look at it and like it. Broken, I think he's a good artist, He knows his way around PS and has done some nice pieces. This just isn't one of them. Giving a lot of positive feedback on a piece that doesn't deserve it isn't helping the artist(artist depending) The way i'd critique broken would be different as to say someone just starting out. Broken is experienced, he's a big boy, he can take the heat. I may be a bit of a Simon Cowell at times, so the things I have to say, you can choose to ignore them or not, love me or hate me, but I'm def here to help and I everyone here in the AC even if that isn't the vibe people get from me.

I know I didn't word my comment very well, because it's missing some key points in what I wanted to get across.

I'm not trying to say you have to shit rainbows and sunflowers and sugar coat everything that you want to say by all means. Just lately things have seemed to be declining for me here.

I guess my views on art and the artists here differ so much that I cannot agree with some things you "seasoned artists" have to say. Ever. My feelings are, any signature that you've put time and effort in deserves <some> sort of positive feedback. Because negative comment after negative comment, doesn't add up to me getting any better. You can't tell me I'm doing this and this and this wrong, whip me a few times and tell me to try again. It just doesn't work like that in my mind.

Also, I get the feeling you take it like I was singling you out, and I wasn't. Silly text. I'm sorry if it came off that way, but no. It's a general observation. Well, ok, small lie.

My last comment was directed towards you and N1TROX. You had the bird in your signatures, christina has her Playboy bunny...Broken has his font now, I guess. I don't know, I guess I find it important for an artist of any kind to have a trademark. Inspiration gets pulled from so many sources that things seem to mesh into one and you start to loose your identity as a artist. So I really appreciate it when an artist finds something like a bird/bunny/small text and sticks with it.

I'm in an incredibly snarky mood and will probably regret everything I've said tomorrow, but somebody gave me access to a computer and the internet. =\ Blame them.

take what you can get and improve your sigs based on that. If you feel they are wrong then thank them for the comment, ignore them, and move on, no need to advance it any further than that. I would be so nauseated if people here tried to make everything too "acceptable to the common artist" in a sense.

Well I already told you what I thought of this tag this morning when I pmed you. That is I absolutely love it. Truth be told ( I'm sure many people will jump down my throat for this) over the past couple of months I've been noticing that the AC and the people who inhabit it have been making tags that all look the same. Everything has been very repetitive with minor tweaks here and there. Maybe that is why tags , such as this one, that are a little different get bad rating. I absolutely love this sig mainly because it's different. Originality is a great thing. You and rek.( he not here atm hoping to see him back soon making new tags) have that and you guys are one of the reason why I even wanted to get photoshop and take a crack at it myself. Keep up the good work Broken.

Naw, I stick with what I said. I agree some of those are different granted but I have seen a lot that kinda resemble each other. Or if it isn't that they resemble it's that srf kinda likes to see a certain "type" of sig. Hence why I said that Brokens sig is "different" it's a concept I have not seen anyone on srf do. To each there own though. I can see why you would not think the same as me nor would I try and force you to see it through my eyes.

Honestly, I know the hard work put into this signature. The effort put into making the BG alone is more than other peoples entire sigs. Holla your no Simon Cowell, if you wanna criticize people's work you gotta be actually better than them. If you or any other person dislike the hard work of somebody then keep it to yourself or say it in a nice way. I'am a friend of BrokenSaint and we are good buddies at school; so i know for a fact the effort put into his pieces, only to be shoved down by a person who has no authority to say so. The words said to an artist must be respectful of the effort put into a piece. Ain't hattin' just making sure you understand. (Don't ban me, it's just an issue i'm concerned about)

No its about whether people like this specific style or not. BS's last Playstation one was really different but it was well-received. This style doesn't. It really doesn't have anything to do with us having similar styles.

If you think WE are mean. Try some of the GFX sites out there. They'll give you mean. We don't sound mean, we just dont' see the need to make everything sound so carebear. We're just giving critism without all that carebear sh1t, and believe it or not, the artists here can take it.
