some help

Post by Morgoth »

so i want to make a sig 350 by 100. The render i want to use, however is much bigger and so i want to know if there is any way that i could drag and drop the render onto the 350x100 box and have it (the render) adjust to the size of the box.

i tried changing the size of the render itself but it turns out way too pixely. any advice?

How are you adjusting the size of the render? On the render go to image>>Imagesize>> Then adjust it in there to a size you want, THEN drag it into your 350x100 template.

under image size do i change the one that says pixel dimensions or document size? cause with document size there's no option to change the pixels(just in. cm., etc)

Sorry, wasn't clear enough. Pixel dimensions. When you change the width the height will change with it automatically, and vice versa.

If you'd show your ideas, people could actually help and guide you in the right direction...

well i dont really know how to put up images and such

try using this pic to see what i mean: http://planetrenders.net/renders/displa ... pos=-16806

when i open it with photoshop and i resize it under image size to..say.. 350x100, it comes out distorted and pixely

is it perhaps that some setting in photoshop isnt right or is it the render? (above)

Well I resized it to about 450 in width then the height changed itself and it looks alright. I think it's a little grainy of a picture to begin with, but it doesn't turn out as bad as you make it to be when I do it.

Questions, have you tried cropping it instead of resizing it?

Usually with pictures that size, I tend to resize them to a more manageable size. Then, cropping my favorite part of the image double, or even triple the size of the signature I'm aiming for. So...instead of cropping it straight at 350x100, I'd crop it at 700x200 and then resize it from there. Usually helps keep the resolution when you're trying to downsize an image that large.
