ok. imo the focal is not nearly distinct enough. i had a hard time figuring out what it was, though the context clues of the text helped.

that being the case, not really a whole lot i can say about it to be honest. there's an obvious flow due to the direction all the effects are slanting, but then your text goes against that flow by being in the opposite direction (i see the flow as top-right to bottom-left). the colors are nice and evocative of war; i get the impression of an explosion. but w/o a clear focal my eyes don't know where to go first.

hope that helps, even though i am having a hard time getting my impressions across with words.
