hey check it out. ive been using photoshop 7.0 for a litle while now, and have made some pretty cool, yet simple things. Not like the things yall make on here, you people are great.

i was asked by a friend to make him a guild and union icon, and loged onto the game for the first time to see what it is that he was talking about. i learned that the guild and icon image is a 32x16 bmp right ...

well in my novice image making, bmp, specially that small, is a huge loss of detail, but the guild and union icons some were very detailed. so my question is as follows.

What program are you people using to make the guild/union icons, so they are as detailed as they are.? And if your using photohop, how??? when i make a banner at the least convert from JPG or GIF to BMP, its completely screwed up, and looks nothing like what i originally made.

Someone please help me with this, and excuse my " noobness" .. lol

thanks.

Just open it in the original form, then save it as a .bmp there should be little or no quality loss.

Btw, the icons are 16x16, because you see 2 in 1 icons you perhaps think they're 32x16

Man, just a tip.. Use the edit button instead of posting 4 times in a row ;)

And i think you should get rid of some of that white background, should
atleast make the sword abit easier to distinguish :)

thanks for that tip ... i wondered what the edit button did ^^

the full image, of that sword, was just an example. my project is to make one of those guild union icons. with it being that small it s all blurred and cant see what is what ...

i dont understand how you can resize the image to such a small size without loosing it like its happening to me.

Well i had a go with the sword one and it looked better on a black
background, i also changed the contrast and blurred and shaprened it a little.
Just because it looks wierd after using the magic wand to remove the
background.

Not the best But some improvement from the one you posted (imo)~ Image

LMAO !!!! you messed with it for 5 minutes, and got it to look better than i have with all day of working on it ... LMAO LMAO!!!!!

(edit) ... see this is what i was talking about above. i put that same image that you did, to bmp and now its completely different. cant even make out its a sword anymore....

lol , i hate to say this, but this little picture is making me wanna stop working on it all together =P

( edited again ) omg... the fotoshop program has been fu****g with my head. when i click to save it as a WBMP it shows it all fuzzy and dotted. but after i save it and open it via picture viewer it looks normal, as it does there above. so my question is, after i do what i need to do to make the thing i need to make, will the game, silkroadonline view it as fotoshop did, or as the picture viewer does?

i would hate to give him a messed up looking picture

Image
this is the resized.

see what i mean, i have to be missing something. when you people resize things, it looks like that picture, but at a smaller version of it, when i do it, it looks like a 2 year old grabed some crayons and made it. LMAO! ...
