[Help] I cant Make My Brushing look Good

When i try to brush backgrounds i have yet to see it come close to the others i see... I think i am doing it the wrong way. Does anyone have any tips about brushing... and yes i Have read all the tutorials
And I dont know what cd4's are or how to use smudge brush... I would like it if i could IM some1 through Xfire or MSN that would be kool...

Ive Been trying to Brush backgrounds then find renders to put on top but the brushes look so crappy when i do it in comparison to others.. I am obviously doing something wrong and i want my brushing to look better...
And i want to be creative and i hear people always say use cd4's. I have no clue what those are
Or how to Use Smudge effect or w/e it is.

It's not in most of the tut's. And riz, tbh, edgetext isn't
always bad. Most new PS makers just don't properly know how to. But if someone does know how to place text properly, it's not that bad.

Obviously edgetext means text to close to the side.. I couldnt find a better place.. Sorry.. Umm i would like to stick to 1 thing so how could i make that Siggy Better?

Don't DP. And btw, you can always make your text
smaller instead of placing it somewhere where it's ugly, and doesn't fit.

Where could i fit or Put Text in that type of sig... I see u are good at Placing Names in Sigs
