Which sig should I pick?

I make a lot of pics for people on another game, where there are player profiles, but I never really made a sig before, so I asked a friend to make me one for these forums.

He came up with:

I decided to have a go of my own as well though:

Which should I use? Or, should I keep trying?

edit: Also, seein as I never made sigs before, tips? ^_^

Alright some tips first.

Ditch the overlay border...at least for a brushed sig like this. The colors are mute which make the border boring. Try to involve some blending (smudge tool, lighting effects c4ds, focus points etc.) When the font is that big, theres not really a focal point because the sword is on the side while the text is huge and in the middle.

Think everyone starts with the ole' brushed sigs with a color dropper color, but try to move onto render smudging and maybe some c4d usage.

Top One.

Comment on the 2nd one, again you're over brushing.

The real sin I can see in your sig is the fact that the sword is bit small and fuzzy, while the words are are quite sharp. A simple composition can be quite nice. Making your sig look like everyone else's defies the word "signature" in it's second definition of "something (as a tune, style, or logo) that serves to set apart or identify".

I render all my own stuff cause I use Paint Shop Pro instead of PS. Im sure that PS has a "sharpen" function cause PSP does. Try that after you render and shrink something.
