SRF AC Teams

Just wanted to bounce this idea off of you guys before I headed off to bed.
Have any of you ever thought about having little teams in the AC? I know that this isn't a serious art forum (as say, compared to DA or Tech-GFX), but I think it'd still be fun.

We could maybe start two-three teams. Hold bi-weekly / monthly competitions over this and that... we could come up with different events along the way, and if people think that this would be a good idea.

I think that this might be a great way to get something new into the AC - something fun as well. Organize it a little bit more as well. To me, it seems a little like the AC is reviving in new members, while dying in some of the older members. I just think that it'd be great to do something new and fresh.

So what do you guys think? If there's enough approval, and reK agrees, I'm sure we could turn this into some sort of official SRF AC deal. Carry cool Userbars in our Sigs denoting what team we belong to. 8)

I love it!

But you know I'm so on fena's team :P

Love the idea, I'm for it. I'm still learning, but I can be taught

My team? I was thinking of maybe having the best artists on these Forums being the captains / leaders of each team? For example, maybe reK would be the leader of Team A, Rizla, B... etc. We could vote on it or something.
Then ranks going downwards from there. All organized and all, you know? I'm still a pretty big beginner as well, so I'd just be right next to you learning. :P
But I'm glad that I atleast have some approval. Not some crazy idea, then?

Anyways, off to sleep, guys. Inspection's probably going to be starting soon, and I'm going to get kicked off by that MySQL error anyway by everybody flooding to the Forums. G'nite!

Yep, well I think you're better than I am. I think the layout should be like so:

Team A: Cap. ReK
Team B: Cap. Rizla
Team C: Cap. Snudge
Team D: Cap. BrokenSaint

To name a few. The Assistant caps would be people a little lower than the caps. i.e. Fena, Ol3n (Although he might be a cap), and a few others.

Then the noobs, Myself, Bones, etc.

3 people on each team, Captain, Assistant, and Apprentice.

Make a bunch of teams, and the team that gets stuck with less than 3 people gets the best people to even it out.

There should be maybe a bi-weekly collab. between the 3 team members.
A theme should be selected by a mod, i.e. someone not connected to the AC, for example, SuicideGrl, or Cin, or someone PM them and ask for a topic, randomly.

Sigs will be made after the topic is chosen, not pre-made.

When the sig is uploaded to here, post who added which elements to the sig.

Any other ideas are welcome, those are my two cents :P,
~Knuckles

That sounds interesting. I'm new to the forums here but I've never been on a gfx team and have always wanted to try it out. :D

Practice is always good. Been wanting to brush up on my ps sig skills since I haven't been making as many lately as I used to.

I suggest 2 teams rather than 4 Knuckles, simply for lack of active artists.

I'm also in and willing, sounds fun yet competitive, two enjoyable aspects.

I like this idea.... How would you do the point system...if it's a competition, who is judging? And how does one team "win" and another "not win"?

And who wants me :D I think it would be cool if Cin and I were on different teams. We can make nooby kitty sigs and compete hehehe

Actually I think I prefer the idea of three too, just didn't like the initial four that was suggested.

Will this idea come into fruition then? I'm intrigued.

Earn points for your team by producing high quality stuff maybe.

True, but maybe it could be divided along skill level? Like beginner, intermediate, advanced? Each team could submit in each category, depending on who has made something, and it would keep the beginners from getting discouraged :)

Well if there's 3 teams, leaders shall be:

1. ReK
2. Rizla
3. Not sure? Ideas for this one.

Either way, I wanna be on Rizla's team, Rizla has pwnage orange siggy :P

So many avenues things could go on the ideas being presented.

1. I believe team leaders need to be selected and decided upon.

2. A list needs to be compiled of all people wanting to be placed onto a team.

3. I think those team leaders, being chosen for competency in both gfx design and a sense of maturity should get together in vent/msn to discuss team member selection. Team leaders will try to create an even balance between overall team skill levels which will promote constant competition and give all teams a fair shot at winning contests.

4. We need somebody to think of a forum for competition, teams challenge eachother? biweekly contests? Will we have contests where each member submits or where the team collabs? (not a forum board :P)

Just so I know, this isnt dead serius?
Like if I miss a contest or something like that, I wont be flamed and kicked from the team.

If not ill gladely join in.

Actually, I wouldn't mind being dungeon master. I could set up a site with the tasks and stocks every week, as well as team profiles and a gallery.

dom if you can accept responsibility for that workload would be awesome, dont need anything too flashy (amount of time devoted is up to you ofc) just functional.

Okay, so perhaps we could have reK create a leader nomination thread, then we would vote on nominees for the three team leaders.

Ol3n - Ofc this is loosey goosy on commitment, its the AC ;) Just as long as you communicate effectively to your team leader what he can expect of you you will be good to go.
