How to make a good background with basic PS2?

Post by woutR »

Well the title says it: I wanna make a nice background (Black/white/Orange) with PS2 only using basic functions (I'm noob).
I need some tips/hints/guides or things you wanna see in a good background.
I have only made two backgrounds so there's much room for improvement.

These are the two I made, please tell me what you think is missing or should be adjusted or if I'm goddamn leet already :)

(Wouter is my name, everyone calls me "woutje or wout")

The Butterfly one I wanted to make it look as if they were flying from some opening/box to the light, but I couldn't make it right, so you're gonna have to imagine a box/opening from under there yourself :)

I really like the butterfly one. Maybe if you spread them out more at the top it would look a little better, but idk, I like it.
