First attempt at using photoshop to make a siggy. Give me some pointers to improve it? Im guessing the text is a bit hard to read.

It's basicly just a SS that's been sharpened to death.

My advise: Don't sharpen that much, you can sharpen if you wish, but that's just crazy.
Try to create a shadow effect, you can find out how to do that in some more intermediate photoshop classes.

Good luck :)

lens flare is a dead giveaway to a person being novice as well. the whole goal of creation in photoshop is to leave people guessing at how you made something, it should never be obvious.

Awww, don't laugh at poor Rizla. It's not his fault that he doesn't know a single thing about Seals. :P Besides, he's going to be coming over to Hercules to play Euro when it comes out, so he'll learn, in time.
First time that I've ever seen the great Rizla give wrong advice, hehe.

Wow, I think you broke more rules than me...

Sig is to big, resize.

I don't know if your computer lagged for 20 minutes after you pressed the sharpen key or what happened but it is way too sharp.

I'm not one for borders so I'm not going to comment on that.

After you blur it to normal again (or start over) you'll want more contrast between the background and character.

Text... try tot fit it in more, rather than just use a visible color and splashing it near your character.

/read the guides

That's really really really funny.

Don't sweat it.. :P

Anyways.. I kinda like the effect on the bg, but for the 'render' it sucks..
