Sig i made today with gimp 8)

i made it in like 1-2 hours :p i had to cut out the pic like 6 times cause i couldn't get it alone (no backround) i'm a newbie but i hope you like it :P
feed bakc greatly appreciated as i'd like to improve maybe some tips on the tools or sometihng :roll:

No shame, cutouts are among the hardest things for any digital artists. I'd use a different font, because that one just screams "default!" Good first image. Keep playing around with it and have fun :)

lol i liek the font it's deffinatly FAR fromm default seeing as i had to go down the whole list and ended up picking the VERY LAST one :P

I really don't think that's what he/she ment..

It looks very plain, and indeed it is.. It's a standard Windows-Font without any text effects..

Try playing with filters and blending modes, i assume there are those in The Gimp aswell.

Yeah, you can download fonts from free font websites. In fact, professionals spend hundreds of dollars purchasing fonts from websites. And logo designs are drawn using vectors.

So it's important that you try to have a unique font, i.e. something that doesn't come packaged with Windows.

Sure, some popular sites are DaFont and 1001Fonts. But if you do a Google search for "Free Fonts", you'll get more good results than I can name.
