Well Im not 100% positive on this but i believe you download a program called "Fraps" record the video ingame using a serious of hotkeys, after you're done recording , i think you save the file to desktop and use a GIF. converter to make it into a short film.

I use fraps... not the trial version
Works great althought it drops the frame rate on my computer down to 30 :|

I advise you use Sony Vegas 7.0 to edit your vidoes ^^

Here is How I Make My Animated Gif's.

1st: You will need a Video, either AVI, or MPG format ONLY, WMV doesn't work for this animated program for some reason.

2nd: You will need this program you can download it from the "Official Website" here http://www.avlandesign.com/vp.htm this is a 20 day trial so be sure to use it :).

3rd: For those who don't have full Fraps, you can download mines http://files.filefront.com/Fraps27exe/; ... einfo.html Full version, this is the very same one I use for all my videos.

Now Lets make that GIF!

STEP ONE:

After you install the program open it, you don't have to mess with any of the options or settings just click on the "File" tab then click on "Open", choose the movie you want to make your GIF from.

Image

STEP TWO:

After you open the movie, another window will open showing you the Video, with lots of options only Change the ones I have highlighted In red. In Point, Out Point is the time line where you want to copy the images to make your GIF, Simpling Rate is the number of images that will be taken within your time line..it's best if you do .30. Having 1.00 will having gaps in your images making your GIF look like it's laggy.

Image

STEP THREE

After you, set your Frame Time line, and set the Simpling Rate to .30 hit the "Capture" key that I have highlighted in red, this will capture all the images within that time line with a .30 sec delay :).

Image

STEP FOUR

Ok, you have your images now, close out on the Video Window, now back on the main window you will see your images to the left and Options in the Middle, You will need to change the Width and Height of your images, from 320 x 240 to 240 x 180, after that is done click on the Apply All with the (Double Checks) this will change all your images to 240 x180.

Image

STEP FIVE

Ok, after the images have been resize it's time to edit your GIF, click on the "Gif Animator" tab, this will bring up more options. First click on the Top Green arrow this will bring all of your Images into the empty area. Then you will need to edit the 500 msec, <--- thats way too slow for a animated gif, anything 250 or less is good speed. After that click on the Preview button is see if you like the speed if not then change it.

Image

STEP SIX

If you like the speed and the frames you picked then click on the "File" tab then "Save GIF" and have fun :).

Image

If, you did this right you should have something that look like my Image Below :), also try to only get a 10 sec time frame of images, don't try to make to long.

A couple I made ages ago.

Gifs seem to slow down in frame rate for me in IE, they always look fine in Firefox though.
