Instead of making it that overcontrasted, you might just want to put a low opac line instead.

ya use image ready, there's a bottom on the bottom of the left bar (with brush pencil and stuff) that shows Photoshop to ImageReady pics
i can teach you how to do the scan bar, but i've been busy lately
