Looks great.. text could have some effects maybe a textured look to make it look like it's actually written on parchment.. could use a better pirate too.. I'd go with Captain Morgan

edit: oh and cut off the piece of the compass that isn't on the paper..

did that on purpose actually.. thought it looked kinda cool

edit: tried a crinkled paper piece as a pattern for the letters,
but you cant really see it cause the letters are so thin..

well.. the style.. normally in photoshop i edit cars so im not
that much of a sig style man i guess

i just wanted a "char" with some text. i found the puss in boots,
thought of pirates, put in some burned paper and then googled
images for the rest. i desaturated (made greyscale) the pics,
fixed em so they all had a bit the same style, put em in my sig,
messed around with opacity (transparancy) and erased whatever
came outside the paper. except for the compass thingy i like
it since it goes well together with the puss in boots. the text font
i just downloaded.. googled medieval fonts and found this pirate
one

I tried to make a sig like yours.. but when i erased the background, and when i uploaded it to the forum. the background is white. not like urs.. how do u do that?

in photoshop, save it as compuserve GIF and make sure you dont
have a backgroundlayer with a color (including white). i normally
make a layer from background and delete it so its transparent.

in GIF save options you can say wether you want it transparant or not.
