GYAH!! that's how you did the lines. i just learned how to use the ben tool the other day so this makes sense to me. thanks!! awesome tut. so many steps :P pretty sure my current attempt had half as many.

after u make a path right click and press stroke

Sorry, should have mentioned that you need to be some what familiar with PS.
For the Pen Tool, just click and make two points. Then switch to the Convert Point Tool and just make something random. Right click>Stroke Path, make sure its set on Brush and click OK. Make sure the brush size is around 1-3px and a solid brush for a thin line.
