Hey all, I'm sort of new to the Photoshop scene, and I just got a couple of questions, Okay I use GIMP v2.2.13 (GUI Image Manipulation Program, I think), Looking forward to getting CS2 soon, so these are the stuff I wanna know.

1. What is supposed to be official size for siggys? ( I use 450x150 )
2. How would you yous abr. (adobe PS brushes) as gbr. ( GIMP brushes)
3. The best fonts for siggys, or anything
3. How you would create that kind of effect in for EG OL3Ns sig

See, that effect around master cheifs gun, how??!? , Mind you I use GIMP
4. Other cool effects that look good on siggys (whether they effect the backround or the render doesnt matter really, anything)
5. Where you get GOOD renders, I know clan templates, aint that good
6. Good gbr. brushes, ( if theres and answer to #2, then abr. would be helpful to me too)

there is not really a "official" size for sigs but just not too wide or too tall i usually do 400/140

i usually make sigs 350 x150,

DEFAULT BRUSHES OMG, i hate it when people download brushes.
using other peoples work in urs. thats just sad.

there isnt any best font. what do u mean by EG?

I use 375 width always, 125-150 for height.

Mine are typically 375x95, goin to try sum new things tho...

Id still trade him for some people we've had here.

450x150 is my favorite, enough space to work :3

Oh and there isnt just 1 *tutorial* that will teach you those effects, It takes time, After you do about 6 tutorials you will start to memorize all these things.

I also reccomend that you mushhh up a couple of tutorials mix some effects around experiment to get the feel of it .

The best renders i would have to say come from planetrenders.net they also have good tutorials in there website.

OSTanime has alot of anime images if your interested in making your own anime renders.

You cant learn until you fail, so keep failing. Bad criticism is GOOD criticism its the only way to learn so don't be mad if your work comes out bad :3.

Everyone has there own style try to find yours :3

1) i use 350 by 85
2) i use default brushes and a few custom ones i made myself, you don't need to download any
3) I use default texts like times new roman, or arial, or other nice ones with clean crisp edges.
4) Filter>distort>displace, my favorite filter, also i use the smudge brush
5) I use SXC.hu to get great renders of real things, for anime renders use planet renders, but SXC is the for sure, way better than any other site.


6) All you need are the default brushes!

please believe me when i say that the best way to improve is to NOT use brush packs, you will get way better with just using the program. Also i cant stress how much you should use SXC for great renders. Every one on planet renders has been made into hundreds of sigs, SXC has new clean and fresh renders which probably have never been used for a sig.
