save as >> .gif
.jpeg does not support transparency. only .png and .gif support transparency, however, internet explorer render .png files incorrectly. therefore, your only choice is .gif.

Lol - png is the way to go. Better quality than jpg, but a bit bigger, and it supports transparent backgrounds.

I haven't reinstalled my photoshop since the last time my harddrive bit the big one but can't you save it as a .jpg and then open it in something like IrfanView and then save it as a .gif or will it lose the transparency in the transition?

1) My IE shows it fine
2) Your IE sucks
3) Microsoft sucks
4) .gif sucks.
Comprende?

Wow, I have a sig. You know, on a browser, I can so totally tell the difference in quality between a .gif and and a .png
/sarcasm

geedunk: thats exactly what i did, like what you did in ur tut (even though i didn't need to know cus i already knew what ur were telling me to do)
MY PROBLEM is that even if i do save it as png it still doesn't work. ugly white bg comes up.
