My first sprite signature, I have a long way to go but comments would be nice.

In my opinion you're going about it the wrong way. The style of your sig is very high res and shiny, but sprites are neither. It looks out of place.

Here is an analogy. There are beautiful frames made out of carved wood, very intricate, that complement old oil paintings nicely. These frames are wonderful, but would you use one of these frames to hang a picture of your cat that you took with a disposable camera?

Maybe you should experiment with pixelate effects, or zoom way in on a texture/brush/whatever, or try vector art, to fit the mood of the sprite better.

2/10. It doesn't fit in very good.. Sprites are coolest, when they look like an explosion.

Try experimenting some more , you'll get better
