Hello again, i'm Matsuko, you may remember me from such topics as "Borders" and other contributing posts. Ok enough with the Troy Macleuer or whatever his name is from The Simpsons intro lol

I'm using Photoshop 7.0 at the moment and it seems to be whatever i am working on i have the same problem. Under the filter tab are some very useful options to try out when playing around with stuff. Unfortunatley most of these are grey'd out for some reason, which i cannot figure out why. This is happening on every single picture i am working on remember.

The options that are grey'd out are: Artistic, Brush Strokes, Sketch, Texture and Video. I know from my brother that the Artistic function is very useful and i would really like to use it but i can't on anything.

Please help me to try and find out why these options are grey'd out and what i'm doing wrong, thanks and sorry if all my threads seem like an essay xD :P

Do you have the right layer selected? Also, some filters don't work on empty or monochrome backgrounds.
