its a good tutorial. easy to follow and nice outcome.
sorry if im picky but you did use brushes

Ya, on the first 3 of so steps.
Smudging with brushes isn't actually brushing.. - It's smudging

Yes, I could have called it no dowmloaded brush tut, but that would have been too long.
