The rest of the progs I use aren't even in the list >.>
Here's what I use:

Cinema 4d
3d Studio Max
Photoshop 7 / CS2
Imageready CS2 (rarely)

If you want to use it in combination to photoshop, use Cinema 4d, the easiest and quickest way to make nice looking 3d abstract renders.

On the other hand, if you are going to use it for real looking 3d renders (objects) use 3d studio max

If all he's going to be using it for is that he can go to trend whore resource sites and just download premade ones.

My favorite version was 7.0 - I use cs2 because it's easier to find then ps7.

I also use Illustrator CS2 in addition to Photoshop CS2.

Yes, if u get C4D or MAYA or some other 3D modeling program, and all u use it for is to make abstract renders, it's a waste imo. Actually do some 3D modeling if u have the program ^^

I make my own brushes and c4d renders, also cut almost all characters I use in my signatures myself, and I keep them private.

You were saying? ~.~

The whole idea about making stuff your self, from my point of view that is, is that you made it your self, wich gives you the right to put your name on it.
If you just grab anything you use from the intraw3b you might as well just not do it.
But that's just me :P

My point being,

There's no point into trying to make your own renders if you're just going to be doing tutorial-cookie-cutter signatures that are nothing more then a couple brushes, a whored abstract render and several layers of colour burn/colour dodge/overlay/etc.

Someone should just come up with a signature template where all you have to do is replace the cutout and pick a colour, that would save everyone in the omg sigz of teh weekz warzzz scene some time.

ZOMG... Be careful, them's fightin' words in these parts.

Gawd forbid you do something different. If they cant attach a style to what you are making they arent real sigs. lol I had to lay off a bit, all mine were starting to look the same cause I was making them too fast and not letting inspiration grab me. Sorry for the requests I have been ignoring.

Im also the rogue paintshop pro user.

You're right, I had the same problem a quick brush -> paste -> blend
then a couple of transparent cloud layers... now i find it commonly
used and its just something you can do in 5 mins... Now i fiddle around
with difurent layers blands adding a render behind another render
and changing the layer style and blur settings adding cross weaves
and many more...

But now i sorta stopped because i got bored of doing gfx...
but now that i got CS3 i might see the magnificent powers
it has and i might go back to doing gfx... till it gets boring again...

Well its about time to change my sig...
