Im Photoshopless now, whats an alternative?

I reformated my comp and although i copied the files on an external harddrive, it wont work for some reason. anyhow, i know people use other programs and still make really cool signatures so im curious of the alternatives to photoshop. just tell me some programs that i can do virtually the same things with please. i miss making stuff. will be a pain to learn it again. but oh well.

Yea I do, buy it. Like I did ~_~
I could probably tag my self as an endangered species, beeing one of the few who bought photoshop CS2

How much brains does it take? PSP is good too if you can get it.
Edit: Also, check your directories on the copied files. That might be why they don't work anymore.
