Where am I?

I was going to enter the "sig wars" contest with the Model-T as a joke, and got way sidetracked. Now it's 3 am and I have to sleep, I left it a bit unpolished, but I think it looks okay. I should have done something to make the car less flat. Comments are welcome.
For anyone who's interested, here's the source material, all via Google.

You'd have made me laugh soooo much if you entered with a Ford model T
Maybe you should have used the Model-T truck "The bakery truck"
Nice idea

I could still enter with an ice cream truck or something. ^^
But then everyone would just talk about Twisted Metal 2.

You could always use the Ice Cream truck from one of Coal Chamber's album covers.
Can't find a bigger image though.

I don't usually bump threads, but I'd really like some feedback from people who know a lot more than me about this kind of thing. Although I should mention I use Paint.NET so PS tips or tuts don't really do me much good.

well the one thing that i keep being drawn to is how its faded kinda in the middle of the samurai, like a white mist type thing. personally i would prefer it clean but you may have done this for a reason.

Well if I must be honest .. I don't really like pop-outs, but it's a nice idea.
It sorta looks like a copy..paste..copy..paste..copy..paste sig, maybe make everything flow a bit more.
Like, blend the renders so they match the old map.
But, don't add too much to the sig, just make everything flow nicely.

That's a "glow" effect. I was fooling around and I kind of liked it. I could say that it means something about deep thought or spiritual awareness, I suppose, but I wasn't thinking about that.

I don't like pop-outs eaither, but it's not meant to be a signature, just an image for fun. If you look at the source material you will get a better idea of the work I did above and beyond copy/paste. That's why I put the links in. I spent quite a bit of time removing the watermark on the scroll, laying the map over it (graded transparency by hand, no plugin!), tweaking the colors to fit better... I know that it could be done better, I just don't know the techniques to do it. Like "blend the renders" - sure, but can you explain how? It's not like there's a "blend render" tool.
Thanks both of you for the comments.

Well the idea is very original and creative, the map was nicely put into the scroll (especially for Paint.NET). The samurai fits.. I'm not quite sure how but he fits.. if it were to be taken on a more serious note I'd say remove the Model-T and change the compass to more of like an oldschool compass (N,S,E,W) and sort of blend that into the scroll/map.

Everyone says blend but I am not sure what they mean.
I changed the coloration of the compass to match the scroll better, and I gave it a shadow. But I don't know what else to do.
