Lets see those guild icons guys

I'm not sure which one to use. A border is nice, but shrinks the image and darkens it overall. It all depends on whether you have to pay every time you change your guild image. Which I think you probably will have to do.

No border man. Unless you put the hat over the border.

FYI everyone, transparency will not work, it will come out as white - so don't try it! You'll have to pay another 1m gold and 20K GP to change your emblem! Get it right the first time!

Well, I did some simple pixel graphics images for a browser-based strategy game that a friend was running last year. Through trial and error I got an idea of what works and what doesn't, when you have very few pixels to deal with.

For your blackhand logo, I recommend either the letters or the hand, but not both. At 16x16 there's not really room for all of it. In my own opinion, although the lettering is nice, I like the image better. And it *does* already say 'Blackhand' next to the logo.

been there done that at 16X16 that hand ain't a hand anymore same goes for letters together or individual (spelling)

Tried it out at 16x16.. kinda blurry but it sorta looks like a hand..



The bg is white.

I couldn't separate the hand and the lettering so I found a similar one on GIS and fiddled around with it. I saved them in .bmp but imageshack changed them to .png; if you want to use one of them, you might be able to just change the file suffix? Or I can send you the .bmp files.

here is the orignial, btw both of yours are good but i just saw one nice thing on our server, guy had only B for a guild bloodline but it was transparent so only that b no corners and stuff its kinda nice so i'm thinking of making something like that, maybe cutting that hand out or just make BH :d what cha think? btw tnx to both of ya

24-bit bmp does not, as far as I know, support transparency. Everyone on babel who has tried transparency has ended up with solid white.

Yep also on Athens you see icons with a solid white background.
Edit; (curse you, my fast fingers) Which actually looks rather stupid IMO.

bake bake, u ever played ro? in there there are guild icons too, but wut u do is u color where u want trans parent like pink-purple ish, and when u load it up, it will show as transparent, dunno if they have that in here tho... lol anyone care to waste a few mil and few gps to try XD?

Transparancy is possible. Google "Alpha Channel Transparancy" That's all I can say because I don't know how to do it myself.

24-bit bmps do not have an alpha channel. Only 32-bit bmps have an alpha channel, and the site specifically says that your emblem file should be a 24-bit bmp. Now, I'm not saying there's no way to do it, but so far I have yet to see proof of a successful transparant guild emblem.

Ok i think i was wrong, it ain't transpared, but it damn looks like it is

guys guys stay on topic i wanna see some good guild icon, and you can make one good for meh luf ya

If you see a guild with a transparent symbol please do the following :

All symbols you see ingame are stored here :

C:\program files\silkroad\RD

(or where ever you installed your silkroad to)

They are named like this :

Gxxx_yyy.rd (xxx is some server number, yyy some guild number)

If you rename them to BMP you can open them with any program that can edit bitmaps.

So, if you see a guild with a symbol that has something transparent in it..

.. please check all the files in that directory for the one from this guild.

And upload it somewhere and link it here.. so we can all see what color will be transparent ingame.

Oblivion was so nice to send me the "B" Logo from his screenshot above.

Sadly it really only looks like it is transparent.. but it is not.

(On the screenie it looks kind of transparent.. but that's only cause of the jpg quality decrease :/)

If anybody sees transparent logos.. please let us know.

if anyone would be so kind as to make a guild logo for me i would be very appreciative... my guild isnt even close to hitting lvl 4 yet, but it would be nice to have one for the future...

we were thinkin of a weed leaf, but i would really like it to be a black weed leaf... if anyone can do this i would squeal with joy and award cookies. thanks.

Hard to tell what it is.. but I'm afraid that's probably the best you're gonna get at 16x16.

hmmmm, i was wondering if maybe the leaf could be like.... ummm.... accented in white so that it would show up better, its hard to put across what i am trying to say here...


you know how leaves have veins... say the veins are white, and maybe the edges of the leaf are white, so that i can see what it is better....
