Haha, I see you've been influenced by Denzler a bit :D
I'm not sure if you've actually used the correct tool for the distortions though? Wouldn't a variety of motion blurs look better? Might also be fun to unblur the birdy :P

The 2nd one looks quit nice as well, but I believe something may be off about the perspective of the left side. I feel a few vertical shadows may fix the issue, but I'm not actually sure if this is the real issue to begin with. Other than that you could just add more snow to force the cold high cliff feeling.

I like the first one, don't really get the random smudge/grain.

Second one has good color choice.

Third one is ok, foreground is too smooth, especially for mountain/rock texture. Your background has about the same detail/smoothness as your foreground, which doesn't make sense since the bg is so distant. Maybe you were going for this effect, but making the bottom get smaller and the top get bigger going out of the image makes the rock/mountain thing seem very floaty, like the rock's flying. The lighting is also very dull, your brightest point (light coming from behind/right) and your second brightest point (snowy path in lower right) are basically the same. The first should be a lot brighter for contrast. A lot of this applies to the first one too.

edit: oh, saw your other thread, guess the first pic random smudge was going for the thing denzler did, but his makes sense because he's using the effect to amplify motion and make the clear paint on the wall his focal whereas without the effect the focal would be the figures and be very "still". The second denzler piece you posted doesn't have the grafiti/paint on the wall and the person as well as the environment are both in motion (guy's moving, wind/snow blowing) so nothing is unsmudged. You kinda just smudged the air and mountain and the top half of a bird, doesn't really make sense, you're not bringing attention to the unsmudged parts or anything. I don't think the first piece is a good piece to use those effects on.

Also, denzler seems to like doing hard edge -> charcol/chalk smudge away from light source, that might work since you have a definitive light source and hard edges.

why remove birdy :[

It's better than before, but I feel like it's somehow too simple. I think the land in the back ground is too flat and empty. The coasts are almost straight lines... It'll need a little work to make it look real.
I like those purple-ish tones in the sky though.

btw is that the actual image size :P? Why always so small?

I like it a lot more, might be too much white outside the focal though, makes the bg look washed out.

I think it might be the colors, washed out works a lot better with cold colors, I think, not the warm brown purple red theme you have.

Wanna get better at swimming? Swim.
Wanna get better at drawing? Draw.

Gotta push yourself.

It's not actually that simple. You've got to have a stepping stone, the basic knowledge of how to start off. You can just give a man wood, a hammer and a saw, and expect him to build a house

And by stepping stone, I mean the knowledge of what tools to use, etc...

not really.
It sure does help though.
Having a stepping stone can kinda put you on a narrower mindset thinking this is to be used here and not there, etc.
