So I had to write an article on Doppler radars and the idea was that it had to look like a popular science magazine article. I made this as the background for the pages... I was going for something kinda corrupted/buggy looking...

Image

For once Jpeg has a use, I had to use like 40% loss ratio to get it to look right :D

any critiques?

^ I cannot figure out whether that is positive or negative.
I'll assume negative. How to improve upon?

I wouldn't degrade the image by using low jpeg settings.
I would go w/ polygon lasso tool and cut that bi*ch up.
Maybe add a little chromatic abberation (I think that's what it is called.)
Add noise too. (Not everywhere.)

why not use low jpeg settings? that's about as authentically corrupted as it gets...
what's chromatic abberation?
Doesn't noise look like the spray can in paint D: ? won't that that look lame? all pixely and stuff...

well because you still want to your image to looks spiffy. There are plenty of ways to keep a sharp high quality image and distort it.
Noise you're going to have to play around w/ to get it looking good.
