You need to learn the basics of; flow, depth, and colors. Best way to learn is to read tutorials.
Keep it up and you'll be a pro before you find the meaning of life =D

Yeah that was actually the first thing I wanted to do with Photoshop, the "stick outta the box" trick
Atm downloaded some Grudge bushes, gonna be able to make some sweet abstract signature backgrounds naoo

Alright I made another one today(Sorry for going Off-Topic on my own topic).
This time I used some "Grudge" brushes, although for some reason I couldn't get the "popping out" effect that I did on my Megaman signature -_- (I remember adjusting the Canvas size for Megaman to pop out but didnt work here)
And here is another one I made Used this time the "Drop Shadow" effect and Flare With border,
NEW ONE

Refreshing the thread.
Here's one I made today.
Used some Grudge brushes for the Background. Then got that sweet 3D Abstract render (which I believe you guys called C4D), applied a "Twist Radial Blur" on that 3D Abstract Render. Then just dropped shadow and a green outer glow on Link. Finally I tried to do something fun with font.(The font "copy & blur" is inspired by Noobs_Slayer latest sig)
What did I do wrong, critics, etc =) (For some reason the signature seems really messy)
P.S: Is there anyways to automatically add a thin black border on PS?

Suggestion to visit Here Btw do not, Outer glow render it looks not nice. Now all i can suggest is to read some tutorials and get the basics.

Meh everyone suggest me Tutorial, guess I'll finally follow one and post results when done
*Take note to not outerglow renders *
EDIT: I don't get how they ask me to put in some C4D's and erase everything just so I keep the "cool" parts Like I tried but it just looks like "not well cutted" pieces of random C4D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First Tutorial Results ( I don't like )
Spoiler!
LMFAO,what a mess. I'v tried to follow the steps carefully(Kat's Final Fantasy tut) You'll notice the random C4D part the guide suggested me to use Don't even know why Im posting it
I did learn to always blur whats far away from my focal and sharpen whats close to it. I also liked I managed to use the "shade" of another PSD
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Second Tutorial Results ( I prefer this one,but not quite good )
Spoiler!
Another try with a different tutorial,I like this one better

The best thing you could do is go to a gfx forum like sigresource where there is literally hundreds of good tuts for all levels of ability and just read through a few and try to apply some of what you read into your sigs.

I think your to quick to dismiss it, the problem I see your having is with colour, specificly they are either monotone or theres just to much of it. This can be fixed with either experience or by simply studying colour (colour wheel adn things like that).
This took me about 10 seconds (hope you dont mind that I used it, I just saw the potential and couldnt resist). All I did was add a black & white gradient map and a curves layer.
Spoiler!
Its still not perfect ofcourse, the backround could still use some work, it needs flow and an enhanced focal point.
Keep up the good work!

--- New Signature following the ``Singer`` tutorial -- I`m still having difficulties with the 'Add a C4D and remove the unwanted parts. I really cant make a C4D look good by erasing stuff.(The C4D used are the random red spots that are blurred)

i remember the background being a pain for me. at first i did what you were doing mess with brushes until you got something. then i started taking the render and smudging it in a flow like pattern around the sig. after that i have been taking pictures that relate to the sig and make it the background smudge it and presto you have a nice background.
EDIT: i read your last post and if your using photoshop take the eraser tool and set it to one of those "fuzzy" looking brushes. then set the opacity (not sure if this is how you spell it) low

Erasing a c4d really isn't that necessary. It's just if you don't like how one piece looks on the sig you erase it.

Changed the font. Funny how hard it is too choose the right font =/
For some reason I really like this signature I made, something about the colors and lightning.

This thread looks familiar... oh wait, Amarisa one The first 4, really newbie; that's normal. Then you improved it. Then only i see it looks nice is Capt'n America, since the bg colours really matches with the character.
Keep the great work, and you will be as good as many of here wich started just like you.
