though kirk is right i there is that black like around them that makes it look crummy.

Ah ok. On a serious note, it isn't horrible. Everyone makes a start somewhere. While it is LQ and the text is poorly placed, I like it. Normally you would try to place the text near the focal (the soldiers in this case). Other than making something very appealing to the eye, you could try to really make a point through a piece. If you look at some of Sae's work, you will see what I mean. Like this one for example:

well you don't need to go spamming that all over the forums.....

2nd one was the best definitely. and again, on the 3rd, you placed the text in a bad place.

One big thing you need to learn is "Depth".
For now, add some foreground effects to add depth and flow.

FOr text placement, learm about the "Rule of Thirds".

Though highly emphasized, I don't think Depth is the first thing to worry about.

Btw, the smudging is rather cool. Looks like a wing. You could do more with that in a next one.

When you're still learning, it's better to stop there, start blank, using different techniques.
