Siggy Competion idea

Okay here is the siggy competion.
Each week or month (not sure yet) everyone can nominate a sig on the forums that
they like (simply note the persons name and an image of the sig in your post).
At the end of the allotted time the sig with the most votes becomes the winner.
then at the end of the month / year (depending if its a weekly or yearly comp)
all the previous winners enter a poll thread in which the forum votes for a monthly/yearly
winner 
Well its just an idea as of know....so tell me what you think?

Probably not the best idea.
The AC is a popularity contest, you get friends voting for friends,boyfriend/girlfriends voting for each other etc. More times then not votes are not cast on technician and style. So some of the new comer artist get forgotten--you can refer to sig wars for example. Somtimes you can have a full packed Sig war but if someone like rek, BS, MK, myself (few others) enter all the votes seem to tip into one side. This is usually not because of the tags but the names that are associated with them.
Just my view, you lot can give it a go but I'm sure it will morph into a " I can piss further then you" contest and lead to a few crushed hearts from never being picked.

I have to agree on u here, but if u can find any forum which doesnt go for the popularity please share the forum link >_< just noticed on another forum they picked the admins vote eventho they are not the best imo :S( and its not like 50% votes for her/him lol its every vote) anywho...ya not the best idea ive heard so far =/

Well how about this...instead of nominating by name...you nominate by the
persons siggy, now yes i know some have names...but most sigs on here are made
for people so its hard to tell who its for unless you know.

if people want, this could be played fair. like, there could
be one person who's in charge of the competition and everybody
has to pm the tag to that person, then the person posts the
tags without posting names above it. that's done on several
other forums as well and seems to work pretty well.

It's kinda hard to mistake a "crimsonnuker" tag for anyone elses.......he's....umm.....uhhh..."specail".

I dont want to admit it again but hostage got a point=.= we are months/years now that we see eachothter and I bet u can even reqonize eachothers sig eventho their sig isnt tagged with their names. :S
The idea would work at with a new forum. a few months ago i played rohan and their forum had a artists corner too-ish and after a week or two they switched msn and tell he/she to vote for his/hers :S

It's kinda hard to mistake a Hostage tag as well. I can spot one of your tags a mile away. You and Crimson have this distinctive and subtle style that's not like ALL IN YO FACE BITCHZ. But as for the contest I think it's a really good idea. We used to do a tag wars at the old graphics forum I used to post at. What you did was that you'd make a tag you'd like to enter then PM it to the person in charge, but you don't display the tag. Then they assign the tags numbers and they display them then you and everyone else vote.
