That's some insane lighting. I wasn't going to vote but after seeing yours you impressed me enough to do so.

First time lens flare was actually useful for me.

Lens flare is the most under appreciated tool. It can give you some pretty sick Fx's if used right but the general consensus is that it's nooby and not to be used.

Rek gmv. His piece is more appealing to the eye.

I love both. Hostages grabbed my eye first, the colours are appealing and it looks good. I also love Rek's even though the head looks weird (as I said last night ).

I do love the both, but rek gmv on thematical basis.
Gotta love Hostage's blue drip on the guy's arm, and overall vectoring skills though.

Cutting the head is unique but not something I like.

The head was in there on my first go at it. It made the RETRO hard to see.

I tried to make it like a board or something was in front of his face. Added a little shadows around his chin so the cut didn't look too.. guillotine like.

lol speaking of cuts...if anyone wants a rendered version of the stock you can use my cut. Hair is a bit choppy but nothing noticeable when resized.

Tried making it a detailed cut, even getting rid of the hair. Didn't look right, the straight cut looked the best out all of the ways i tried.


Added a different version.. for all u haters. I still think the blocked out head is better.

I think the reason people are putting so much emphasis on the head cut is that the text is arched and the cut is not. If the text were on the board in the guy's hands, the board would probably be arched as well. I get what you're going for and I like it, but I think a curved board would not draw as much attention to itself. I definitely like the cut version better than the non cut.

Both immense pieces to choose from,tho my vote goes to Hostage, i generally prefer it and the colours added with the detail (love the dripping ) just appeals to me more than rek's piece, but great job reK aswell, very nice piece, really interseting stock aswell x)

I actually like rek's most. The head cut is really original, with the head it would just look dumb imo.

Both of them are great, rek's just seems, I don't know, different, original, meh, I like it.

Actually I just noticed, you have a line running down both the right and left side of the sig where the colors are off slightly

Someone noticed.

I noticed it. I just didn't think it stood out enough to substitute it with his head. Though I do admit, it looks better than having his head there.
