I always code HTML and CSS in Notepad ++
Don't like dreamweaver it generates to much of it's own content.

That's what makes it so excellent for beginners.

Starting with Dreamweaver is a better way to go. It auto-completes tags and stuff for you. Some say that this spoils you, but I think it helps newbies do a good job.

Good for beginners, maybe. But it also makes you lazy, Notepad ++ forces you to fix your own errors, remember to finish your own tags, and nest everything like you should have.
Higher entry level, but you'll learn much much faster doing it yourself.

If your just starting do everything through notepad. That was.. when / if you move into dreamweaver - if something goes wrong, you will be able to find out what / why much easier. Oh and make sure to learn CSS after you've got the basics with HTML.. it is a much better way to do everything.
Oh and i use dreamweaver.. though so far i have only learnt HTML / CSS / Javascript. Will be learning PHP soon hopefully.

Flash is my weapon of choice.
Edit: I can't read. For HTML I just use Notepad. Hard coding in notepad FTW

Just paste any code you have troubles with here, in a quote or something. Wong, me, and some others will sort it out.
