My first attempt doing something like this, not really good but w/e. Didnt succeed to blend the car in to the background really. Pretty bad outcut but didnt want to spend to much time on the first, but going to try it again a couple of times cuz it was really fun doing the tutorial. But dont be to harsh on the comments plýs

Apart form the blending, which you allready mentioned, the car's shadow is just a copy of the car itself, which isn't realistic, you would get a different shape shadow in reality.
And, it's hovering to high :o

Not bad, dude. But blend it, damn. Also, use another stock, this one wasn't very suitable for a such thing, right?

if you like working on cars in photoshop, try
digging up my car pimp topic. i used to do it
a lot.
and i'd make a car float closer to the ground,
this one is flying, that's why it's so hard to
get the shadow right. that plus that the car
looks tiny on this pic >.<

Its ok for a beginner but yeahh both the stocks arent so great for this purpose, and it really needs blending.. But its not bad!
About the shadow: I know, didnt really find a better way to do it :/
Just take your shadow layer and do a big Gaussian Blur on it, if it looks to big free transform it to make it smaller.

Meh, sorry about that. Also, you should take it further and do what the tutorial says about making the actual hovering engine things. It may seem hard, but thats how you learn

. Dont worry about the outcome it doesnt even look that great with the bg in the end of the tutorial. One thing you could do is try adding some gradient maps and changing the blending modes to make the two images go better together. Like maybe a b/w gradient map on multiply at 10% then whatever else. And also messing around with curves, brightness/contrast, using those tools are a great weapon to have for blending things together.
But yeah try the thing with the wheels just do what it says

you will be suprised with the result!
Sorry for writing a freakin novel.

I agree.
The author of the tutorial could have done a way better job at blending and positioning the jet engines, the placement off the car on the stock is horrible, and his shadow is actually way worse then yours.
