I got into vectoring recently and I wanna know if any of you fellow Artist Cornerians do it ,also. If so, any tips? :]]

Learn to use the pen tool, incredibly well.

Theres a few different ways of doing it. Too long to explain.


tips..? ummm dont use small LQ pics, high res and good quality.

Take ur time, vectors arent supposed to take 20 mins.

Its not all bout skill, but patience aswell.

Along with what Priam said, you should know how to transition from different shades of colors.

Pen tool is the best way to have a lot of control on what you're doing. However also learned a method using just basic shapes and by taking the handles/anchor points (Illustrator) molding them to take on whatever shapes. Recreated a picture of Ingrid Michaelson using Pentool and Shapes .

Just practice till it feels natural and you don't have to really think about what you're doing when controlling the pentool.

3 hours for a vector isn't all that extreme.

It most certainly isn\'t *grin*

Certain vector\'s I\'ve done took me well over 12 hours, spread over a few days. And I\'m not even that good.
